On the directions issued by Naunihal Singh, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Jalandhar Range, Jalandhar and Arun Saini, PPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural) and under the guidance of Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu, PPS, SP/Headquarters, Sarbjit Singh, PPS, SP/Investigation and Ankur Gupta, PPS, ASP/Sub-Division Adampur, a special drive has been launched against anti social elements.
The Jalandhar police received a major success when SI Jarnail Singh, SHO PS Bhogpur alongwith police party arrested two persons and recovered fake Indian Currency of Rs. 66,200/- and one motorcycle (Red Colour Splendor) bearing registration No. PB10-CY-3575.While addressing the press media, Sh. Arun Saini, PPS, SSP/Jalandhar (Rural) intimated that on 15-01-2020, SI Jarnail Singh, SHO PS Bhogpur alongwith police party in a govt. vehicle while conducting checking was present at T-Point, G.T. Road, Bhogpur and were conducting checking of suspicious persons and vehicles.
An information was received that Ashwini Kumar (Aged about 40 years) s/o Om Parkash r/o Civil Lines, Ludhiana and Gaurav (Aged about 25 years) s/o Pardeep Kumar r/o Kot Kishan Chand, district Jalandhar are coming from Jalandhar to Bhogpur side on red colour Splendor motorcycle No. PB10-CY-3575. In case nakabandi is done at T-Point G.T. Road, Bhogpur, both can be nabbed.
Accordingly ASI Sham Singh alongwith police party conducted nakabandi at Highway, T-Point G.T. Road Bhogpur. During nakabandi two persons coming on a motorcycle bearing registration No. PB10-CY-3575 were spotted. The duo were intercepted by the police party. The person driving the motorcycle revealed his identity as Ashwini Kumar (Aged about 40 years) s/o Om Parkash r/o Civil Lines, Ludhiana and the search of kit bag being carried by him led to recovery of fake Indian currency of Rs. 49,400/- whereas the pillion rider revealed his identity as Gaurav (Aged about 25 years) s/o Pardeep Kumar r/o Kot Kishan Chand, district Jalandhar and his personal search led to recovery of fake Indian currency of Rs. 16,800/-.
Both the accused were arrested and in this regard case FIR No. 08 dated 15-01-2020 u/s 420/489/489-B, 489-C IPC was registered in PS Bhogpur.Place of incident : T-Point, G.T.Road, BhogpurRecovery effected1. He further revealed that against him one case u/s 307 IPC was registered in U.P. in which he has been declared proclaimed offender whereas an another case u/s 392/395-A IPC stands registered against him in Saharanpur, UP.

During preliminary investigation accused Gaurav (Aged about 25 years) s/o Pardeep Kumar r/o Kot Kishan Chand, district Jalandhar revealed that since last one year he alongwith Ashwini Kumar is in the business of circulation of fake Indian currency notes. He further revealed that against him one case of NDPS Act (selling of intoxicated tablets)stands registered in Qutabsher, UP.
